Bakra – Steak & Pizza Bar is a place where people have been enjoying good company and food since 1947. Over the course of years, fisherman’s and peasant’s dishes as well as the first wood-fired oven pizzas were made here. Today, food is prepared in accordance with the rules of our famous chef Frane Šerka – we prepare traditional, Mediterranean and innovative food with just a pinch of soul.

We are located in the centre of Split. Yet, we are far enough – in the street were old neighbourhood Toć meets Bačvice. This is a street that we look for in every new place, a street where the food tells stories about this town and time.

We offer great pizzas from a wood-fired oven made by Italians in 1984, first-class premium steaks from around the world and traditional Dalmatian food.

We will take you to a gastronomic trip through past and we will show you what Split has to offer to the world. On the other hand, we will show you the modern thanks to our chefs’ culinary philosophy and art. They practice modern Mediterranean cuisine based on seasonal ingredients by local producers, daily market offer and constant wish to create something new.

In the place made of stone, overlooking an open fire, we keep the spirt of Toć and Lučac neighbourhood. The city was created by traders, fishermen and peasants from these neighbourhoods. The same spirit was presented to the world by our famous sculptors Ivan Meštrović and Toma Rosandić who worked with stone just around the corner.

We are proud to see our guests coming back, not only because of great food and wine, but because of a friendly atmosphere, positive energy and long and successful tradition.
